Wearstler Chic

Bel-Air Villa, Kelly Wearstler

Over the past few years, we’ve enjoyed watching the growing empire of Kelly Wearstler.  From books to fabric lines, hotel and restaurant design, she’s now fully embraced home accessories product design and fashion. Yesterday, Heather Clawson at Habitually Chic provided a behind the scenes look at Kelly’s new fashion line for Bergdorf Goodman, and it appears at first glance, very Wearstler chic.  Check out what’s for sale online now here!

We’re loving the seamless transition she makes from home accessories to fashion accessories…great on the shelf, great on the wrist!

Purchase the ring ($125) and cuff ($225) along with other Wearstler goodies at Net-a-Porter.

Lastly, a side note about the architectural quality of Kelly’s accessory design. We immediately thought of the new facade renovation of New York’s Maritime Hotel on 16th Street. Remarkably reminiscent, no?

And, just like we loved Jeffrey Marks’ deGournay Fishes twitter background last week, Maritime’s page follows suit today! Follow on twitter @MaritimeHotel to keep up to date with the ongoing renovation and see more of this large scale metal perforation.

Love the architectonic comparison – I just love that synergy. Design is a universal concept and some people like Wearstler have the broad minded vision to make those kinds of connections!

There are clearly no boundaries with KW-a true crossover artist. A constant reminder that design is a lifestyle. We each create our own aesthetic and language…..on so many levels: live in it; wear it; experience it!
