Wallpaper Weekly, no. 8 / Gracie Studio

Bottega Veneta Fall 2011 Advertisement, photo by Robert Polidori

A non-traditional post for this week’s wallpaper. We make an exception for this incredibly simple yet stunning advertisement by Bottega Veneta on the back cover of this week’s NYMagazine.  It is a reminder of gorgeous and most revered Gracie handpainted wall panels.

Wouldn’t the advertising’s Chinoiserie painting make for an incredible handpainted wallpaper?

Found your blog from the DDB fall market. I was the design blogger/lawyer that spoke to the issue of using pictures.
ADORE this image. I am a huge wallpaper fan, and have loads of period wallpaper in my house. (a c.1900 Victorian that we completely rebuilt after a fire). I once did a post on your former employer and know their role at Adelphi.
    Looking forward to reading more.
    All best,
