The Art of Bathing

Custom painted bath tub by Annie Millar; photo: UK House and Garden, March 2012

This insanely cool bath tub (enamelled cast-iron Usk from Drummonds by artist Annie Millar) featured in the March issue of UK’s House and Garden got us thinking – what a great place for an unexpected wow moment? And if a custom commissioned work of art is a bit too much for you, it’s a great place for a pop of unexpected color in the bathroom! Check out some of our image research on the matter…

@Shani, agreed! what a luxury – Kitchen is the other fireplace location we always swoon over…
@Jamie – who can say no to an orange tub?! ;)

I grew up in a fourth floor walkup in upper Manhattan. We had a cast iron tub and I vividly remember my father painting it fire engine red. Thanks for the walk down memory lane…

Hi Ladies — love the tubs! I painted the pedestal tub in my nursery kelly green. We may paint it again, just for fun.
Congrats on Elle Decor and on the Lillian August window — can’t wait to see it tomorrow night.

Love these! My daughter’s preschool has an old clawfoot tub filled with fun color/pattern pillows in the main play room. It is a very popular space (for kids and adults). Who knew they were design innovators!
