Star Sightings

The star print trend happening now in the fashion world has recently come to our attention.  Check out this NYMag slideshow of the Dolce & Gabbana star print fad happening all over the celebrity scene.  And, here, Anne Hathaway clad in D&G stars on the cover of the September issue of British Marie Claire and Beyonce on the cover of the September issue of InStyle.

The star print motif has been prevalent in the interior design world for decades, perhaps most notably as the famous “Trixie” print by Albert Hadley. Below, the most esteemed American decorator framed by his Trixie print wallpaper. We just simply love Trixie…and this photograph of Mr. Hadley!

While we’re always a bit wary of the word “trend,” this whimsical star print can certainly translate into some interior whimsy as both subtle touch or bold decision.  Below are some literal interior translations of this starry print fashion trend!  What do you think?

What a fun star studded post. Of course love the Emma Bridgewater – thank you for the mention! In my last house I had a star wallpaper on the ceiling of my mud room – it was subtle but effective!!
